Zionist Logic

Malcolm X :)

Published in Septemeber 17, 1964, just days after his return from Gaza, Malcolm X wrote the article “Zionist Logic” for The Egyptian Gazette – and it would go on to become his final published article before being assassinated in February 21, 1965. Even the most notable biographies of Malcolm X gloss over his anti-zionist sentiments but in this piece, he is abundantly clear in asserting his viewpoint: Israel is the newest scheme of the European colonial empire.

The Israeli Zionists are convinced they have successfully camouflaged their new kind of colonialism. Their colonialism appears to be more “benevolent,” more “philanthropic,” a system with which they rule simply by getting their potential victims to accept their friendly offers of economic “aid,” and other tempting gifts, that they dangle in front of the newly-independent African nations, whose economies are experiencing great difficulties…Thus, the power and influence of Zionist Israel in many of the newly “independent” African nations has fast-become even more unshakeable than that of the 18th century European colonialists…and this new kind of Zionist colonialism differs only in form and method, but never in motive or objective.

Poignant, scholarly, and incredibly brief, this piece aims to poke three holes in the logic of Zionism. The first two are political points and the last is a technical one, but all three are sound arguments and well ahead of their time. A google doc of the article can be found below - feel free to make comment and highlight as you wish.

But wait - (as always) there’s more!

First up we have a video interview of Malcolm X at UC Berkley in October 11, 1963 where he discusses the oppression black people face at the hands of white power structures, the hypocrisy of white liberalism, and the struggles of Black liberation in America.

Secondly, we have another great find - a rip from a record I found called Malcolm X Talks to Young People, where he discusses heavy topics in very colloquial terms to 37 teenagers from McComb, Mississippi. They were on a 8-day trip to New York sponsored by the SNCC foryouth who had been outstanding in the Civil Rights struggle in their area.
